The Barr Brothers to Play David Letterman

The Barr Brothers have sent a little bit of wonderful news via email regarding their upcoming gig on the Late Show with David Letterman and subsequent tourdates as well which you'll find after the jump.

Bonne année / Happy New Year to all!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our shows and picked up our album in 2011.  We feel really fortunate to have played for such inspiring audiences at just about every stop. Since we officially released our debut album in September, the response has completely exceeded any expectations we may or may not have had.  We're looking forward to heading back out on the road for many more shows and adventures.

​ We're starting 2012 out with some exciting news.  First, we'll be performing on Late Night with David Letterman this Thursday, January 5th at 11:35pm.  Brad and Andrew's mom, Nancy Verde Barr, was on Letterman 25 years ago, as Julia Child's assistant when she prepared a hamburger for Dave, which he ate raw because the power went off on the stove (not our mom's fault - click here to watch!).  Hopefully he'll remember.

​ The very same day, NPR stations across the US will air a session we did for David Dye and World Cafe at the WXPN studio in Philadelphia.  You can find more details about World Cafe at: http://www.npr.org/programs/world-cafe/. Great show, great studio, great honor.

We also have some winter shows coming up very soon in the new year.  In February, we'll be visiting some new towns in the Midwestern US with Portland Oregon's Blind Pilot and are looking forward to returning to some of our favorite rooms in Quebec.  We've been invited to perform at Club Soda for Montreal's High Lights Festival on February 22nd and will be playing at the wonderful Great Hall in Toronto on March 1st, a room we first discovered while opening up for The Low Anthem last year.
